Based on the analysis of the hazardous characteristics of cryogenic liquids, combined with various gas supply modes of cryogenic liquid storage tanks, this article briefly describes its basic requirements and key points for safe use. Cryogenic liquid receives high heat from the surrounding environment or a large amount of leakage absorbs surrounding energy, and its volume will expand due to rapid vaporization. At 0°C and 101.3KPa pressure, the gas volume after vaporization of 1L cryogenic liquid: nitrogen is 674L, oxygen is 800L, and argon is 780L. In a closed container or pipeline, the internal pressure rises due to the vaporization of the cryogenic liquid, which may easily cause the container or pipeline to explode under overpressure. The use of cryogenic liquid storage tanks should strictly implement the "Safety Rules for the Use of Cryogenic Liquid Storage and Transportation Equipment" (JB6898-1997) to strengthen daily safety management. When storing cryogenic liquids, the filling rate should not be greater than 0.95, and excessive filling is strictly prohibited. Before the cryogenic liquid storage tank is put into use, it should be ensured that the container is in good airtight condition, all accessories (including valves, instruments, safety devices) are complete, effective, sensitive and reliable, the pipe material is selected appropriately, and the system is dry and free of oil. During the normal use of cryogenic liquid storage tanks, special personnel should be responsible for patrolling inspections. Check that the pressure of the inner container shall not exceed the maximum working pressure of the storage tank. If the pressure is overpressured, pressure relief measures shall be taken. Check the status and leakage status of each valve, and find that the status is different or there is leakage, and treatment measures should be taken in time to properly correct the abnormality. Cryogenic liquid storage tank is a storage pressure vessel for storing liquid oxygen, liquid nitrogen, liquid argon, and liquid carbon dioxide. It provides high-purity equipment for steel mills, hospitals, gas production plants, food and beverage industries, welding and other industries. Gas is needed, which is more economical and safer than using high-pressure steel cylinders to inflate, and reduces gas costs. It is currently the preferred liquid storage container in various industries.

This paper studies the non-destructive storage rules of horizontal cryogenic storage tanks. The working fluids include liquid nitrogen and liquefied natural gas. Through thermodynamic analysis, it is proposed to use the dimensionless number group Gl to characterize the relative size of the gas-phase space heat leakage; and through the calculation of multiple sets of low-temperature fluid physical properties data, the general law of the gas-phase space heat leakage is obtained.
